AGIMAN drafts the visit and returns a signed note to MEDITECH Expanse

AGIMAN captures the encounter on an appliance inside your hospital network, drafts the chart note in the clinician's style, and suggests ICD and CPT codes. After the clinician reviews and signs, AGIMAN maps the note and approved codes back to the Expanse fields.

The connection

How AGIMAN connects to MEDITECH.

What MEDITECH is

MEDITECH Expanse is an electronic health record used by community hospitals and integrated health systems across acute, ambulatory, and long term care settings. It is built and run by Medical Information Technology, Inc. (MEDITECH), a Massachusetts company. Clinicians document in Expanse with specialty web templates and a mobile app, Expanse Now, and the system exposes data to outside apps through MEDITECH's Greenfield Workspace and its Traverse Exchange network.

The access path

FHIR R4 (US Core)SMART on FHIROAuth 2.0HL7v2

AGIMAN connects to Expanse over MEDITECH's published standards: US Core FHIR R4 with SMART on FHIR and OAuth 2.0 to read encounter context, and HL7v2 interfaces for the document and order traffic that carries the signed note back. MEDITECH's US Core FHIR R4 access is read oriented, so we route note write back through the HL7v2 path or the document workflow your site already runs, not through a generic FHIR write. We build and test the path against the Greenfield Workspace sandbox first, which holds synthetic data and is not connected to your patients, then scope and test it against your own Expanse instance with your team before go-live. This is a standards-based connection, not a certified partnership or a MEDITECH endorsement.

The MEDITECH export path is built against the Greenfield Workspace sandbox and is scoped and tested against your own Expanse instance before go-live.

The workflow

From the exam room to MEDITECH, with you in control.

1

Capture

Record the encounter on the appliance

AGIMINION captures the room audio in an Expanse exam room or clinic. Transcription runs on the appliance inside the hospital network, with no internet connection needed to transcribe.

2

Draft

Draft the note and suggest codes

AGIMAN drafts the chart note in the clinician's style for the matched Expanse encounter and suggests ICD and CPT codes. It also prepares any referral letters, intake forms, and the follow-up task.

3

Review and sign

Clinician reviews and signs

The clinician reads the draft against the chart, edits anything, and signs. Nothing leaves the appliance until a human approves it.

4

Sync

Map the signed note back to Expanse

AGIMAN maps the signed note and the approved codes to the discrete Expanse fields, using the HL7v2 interface or document workflow your site already runs. The note lands on the matched encounter for the clinician to confirm in Expanse.

After sign-off

What AGIMAN hands back to MEDITECH.

Signed note

Chart note to the Expanse encounter

The note the clinician signed, mapped to the documentation fields on the matched Expanse encounter so it reads like the rest of the chart.

ICD / CPT

Suggested codes for the visit

ICD and CPT codes AGIMAN suggested and the clinician approved, attached to the encounter for coding and billing review. The coder still confirms before the claim goes out.

Documents

Referral letters and intake forms

Referral letters, patient handouts, and intake or visit forms drafted from the encounter, saved for the clinician or staff to send or attach in Expanse.

On your network

Local first, before any export.

  • Room audio and transcripts stay on the appliance on your network.
  • Transcription and note drafting run on site, with no internet connection required.
  • Nothing reaches MEDITECH until the clinician reviews and signs.
  • Exports use the access path your practice approves, with a BAA available.

Questions

MEDITECH, answered.

Where do the visit audio and the draft live?

On the AGIMAN appliance inside your hospital network. Room audio, transcripts, and drafts stay local, and AGIMAN does not need an internet connection to transcribe or draft. Only the signed note and approved codes move to Expanse over the access path your team approves.

How does AGIMAN reach our Expanse instance?

Through MEDITECH's published standards: US Core FHIR R4 with SMART on FHIR and OAuth 2.0 to read encounter context, and HL7v2 or the document workflow you already run to carry the signed note back. We build against the Greenfield Workspace sandbox first, then scope and test the path against your own instance before go-live. A BAA is available, and AGIMAN is HIPAA compliant.

Does AGIMAN write to the chart on its own?

No. The clinician reviews and signs every note before anything reaches Expanse, and the coder confirms the suggested ICD and CPT codes before billing. AGIMAN drafts and maps. The clinician keeps clinical judgment.
